Hot Cross Buns using your Breadmaker

I made these last year and they were very yummy.

2 teaspoons dry yeast
3 and half cups bread flour
3 tablespoons milk powder
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons mixed spice
45 g butter or margarine
350 ml water
1 cup of mixed dried fruit or choclate chips or raisins or any dried fruit you like (eg. cranberries)

Put all ingredients into bread maker except the last one. Use the dough setting for "raisin dough". Add the last ingredient when the machine beeps. (Check your breadmaker's instructions carefully for individual settings and recipes).
When the dough is ready put it on a floured surface and knead it. When the dough appears to be elastic (that is when pulled it springs a little) divide into even portions for the size of buns you wish to make. Make sure the size is uniform. You will probably get around 12 - 16 buns.
Cover and let rest until it has risen, just like when making bread.
Mix an extra cup of plain flour with some water to make a smooth paste and pipe the crosses on with a piping bag.
Bake in a pre-heated oven of 200 degrees celcius (around 390 F) for about 20 mins, Check the colour and make sure you have a nice even browness. If your oven doesn't have a fan, then check they are evenly coloured and rotate during cooking. Put back for five more minutes if necessary depending upon the size of your buns.
Buns may be glazed by mixing a teaspoon of gelatine with a tablespoon of sugar and two tablespoons of boiling water. Brush the glaze on with a pastry brush while the buns are still warm.
