Miss Kitty Fantastico was the pet kitten of Willow Rosenberg and Tara Maclay in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series.
No-one is very sure what happened to Kitty Fantastico but she was a cute kitty anyway.

Season 4 Episode 19 New Moon Rising

(Willow and Tara walking across campus.)
TARA: Do you like cats?
WILLOW: I'm more of a dog person myself. But I'm not like, "death to all cats." Why?
TARA: Cause I was thinking of getting one.
WILLOW: Can you have one in the dorms?
TARA: No, but this would be a sneaky cat.
WILLOW: That would be cool. You mean it'd be sort of like a familiar?
TARA: Actually, I-I was thinking it would be sort of like a pet. You know, we could ... we could name her Trixie, or Miss Kitty Fantastico, or something.
WILLOW: And we could make kitty go bonkers with string and catnip and stuff?
TARA: Absolutely.
WILLOW: Fun! I'm in.
TARA: So, you're not allergic or anything.
WILLOW: Nope.
TARA: Good, cause ... I want my room to be Willow-friendly.
WILLOW: Me too.

Season 4 Episode 20 The Yoko Factor
Cut to Tara's dorm room.  Willow is sitting on the bed playing with a small black and white kitten in her lap.  Tara is sitting on the large chest at the foot of the bed.  She is looking though the course selection booklet.
Willow:  Oh.  I keep thinking "Okay, that's the cutest thing ever," and then she does something cuter and completely resets the whole scale.
Tara:  Did you see her yawn earlier?
Willow:  Yes!  I thought I was going to die.
She picks up the kitten to look into its eyes.
Willow: (babying voice) Oh, I love you, Miss Kitty Fantastico!
Tara:  We got to get her a real name.
Willow:  It's so cool that she's ours. (pause) Uh, yours.  That she's yours is-is cool.
Tara:  She can be ours if you want?
Willow just smiles at that.
Tara:  You still need an elective. (glances down at booklet) How about . . Sophomore Level Psychology?
Willow:  Oh.  Kinda psyched out since Professor Walsh.  Maybe something fun like drama.  I could be dramatic.
Willow picks the kitten up again in front of her face.
Willow:  (dramatic voice) You cannot have more catnip!  You have a catnip problem!
Tara:  (laughing) Definitely drama.
The kitty starts pawing at Willow's hair and face.  She lowers it to her lap again.

Season 4 Episode 22 Restless
TARA: I think it's strange. I mean, I think I should worry that we haven't found her name.
WILLOW: Who, Miss Kitty?
(Shot of their kitten, playing with a ball of red yarn in slow-motion.)
TARA: You'd think she'd let us know her name by now.
WILLOW: She will. (Looking down at Tara) She's not all grown yet.

Season 5 Episode 6 Family
Episode begins. We see Willow and Tara's kitten playing with a small ball of yarn.

WILLOW VOICEOVER: Tell me a story.

TARA VOICEOVER: Okay. Once upon a time, there was, um ... a kitty. She was very little, and she was all alone, and nobody wanted her.

WILLOW VOICEOVER: This is a very upsetting story.

TARA VOICEOVER: Oh, oh, but it gets better.

The kitten runs offscreen. Cut to a shot of her trying to crawl under a bed.

TARA VOICEOVER: 'Cause one day the kitty was running around in the street and a man came, and swooped her up...

A pair of hands comes into the shot and swoops up the kitten.

TARA: And took her to the pound.

We see Tara sitting on the end of Willow's bed lifting the kitten into her lap. Willow is in the bed, under the covers.

TARA: And at the pound there were lots of other kitties, and there were puppies, and some ferrets...

WILLOW: (smiling) Were there dolphins?

TARA: (handing kitten to Willow) Yes. Many dolphins at the pound.

WILLOW: Or was there a camel?

TARA: (thinks) There was the front of a camel. A half camel. (Smiles)

WILLOW: (cuddling kitten) Did the kitty get chosen by some nice people?

TARA: Well, now you ruined the ending.

WILLOW: Mmm... (lets go of the kitten and it runs off) I'm sleepy.

Season 7 Episode 21 End of Days

DAWN

Xander, my crossbow is not out here. I told you, I don't leave crossbows around all willy-nilly. (pauses guiltily) Not since that time with Miss Kitty Fantastico.

Hi, Jigglypuff here.

Well I was looking around the internet today as you do. I saw this lolcat on Kate's Facebook, and it gave me an idea.

So I totally did it:

But, you know how addictive Facebook is, and I couldn't stop.
So I made my own fan page.

Cakes, Cakes, Cakes!

Here is a selection of pictures of cakes done by local Perth people at The Perth Royal Show. I took these photos for my friend Matt who loves decorating cakes and won some show prizes of his own. You'll see a lot of them have a Literary or Nerdy theme which appealed to me.

Layout is from Sweet Baby Girl by Emily Taylor from MyMemories Software, which is also the software I used to create the pages. you can click on the picture below to go there.

Minutes from meeting 1944 of Fruit Growers Association.

Process:

Selecting materials:
I used the catalogue and a physical search of the library to gather the resources. I used the searches “orchard”, “orchards”, “fruit growing”, and some of the family names on both the catalogue and Picture Armadale.
The Local Studies Librarian, kindly obtained the archival ephemera for me from the offsite archives, which really completed the collection.
All the photos are available on the new Picture Armadale online catalogue. (Always seek permissions for the use of these types of images).
The books are from the Local Studies collection.
I knew I had a Fowlers Vacola fruit preserver and some bottles and a fruit crate among my personal collection. I thought these would complement the display.

Setting up:
I wanted to respect the age of the material, and not make it appear tacky, so I paid homage to the sepia photographs with manilla cardboard and photo corners, as well as some scans from Gardening magazines from the 60’s & 70’s with the yellowing paper colours kept during colour photocopying. The black and white photocopy of the planting guide was yellowed using tea. The labels were printed on parchment and placed on seating cards for the display cabinet.
I added pops of colour (using fruit colours as inspiration). For example “Orchards” is written in orange, the titles are written in green. The backdrop is red like apples and strawberries.
I added a fruit themed cloth to place the items on the bottom shelf to protect the shelf. Further colour was added by framed botanical prints and plastic fruit.
The photographs of family members were placed in brown wooden frames and I added a doily to create a “mantelpiece” feeling.
The local studies librarian was very helpful in suggesting the cleaning of the Vacola and bottles to ensure there were no insects or eggs that could affect the books and other materials.
I added some brochures about Vacola bottling kits.

Response:
An email from the  local studies librarian said,  “the congratulations have begun to flow for your exhibition!  Congratulations to you.”

Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn Part 2

So Bella and Edward got married, but did they live happily ever after? Of course not, because the Volturi don't like vampires playing house and drinking animal blood and being all human like. Then there's the problem of the mysterious vampire/human hybrid child, that the Volturi thinks is a child turned vampire (remember that's a no-no - think of poor Kirsten Dunst in Interview with the Vampire). That's something Aro can't resist checking out, and he still wants Alice's power of course. What happens next is awesome. It won't disappoint the fans and it still leaves you shocked and amazed, even if you have read the series books and know the story well.

I headed off to the double feature, with the early screening of part one and the midnight screening of part two. Jessi from Jessi in Wonderland was my partner in crime, while we faithfully stayed up late despite both having important projects the next day. See Jessi's review here.

I got to see a bit more of my favourite character Billy Black (Gil Birmingham) and guess what? Kristen didn't totally suck either. I was actually impressed. But I have liked her a bit more since The Runaways and Snow White and the Huntsman.

The last instalment is everything that a fan could want. With plenty of Jacob, Edward and the other honeys as well as gorgeous girls and amazing fights to keep your own honey entertained enough not to rib you about your obsession.

I miss the unique direction of Catherine Hardwicke that we saw in the first Twilight movie. But I can see the path they were taking the series down, less fairytale - more popular vampire series. Much as I have enjoyed this series, it's still not Buffy or even True Blood. But, that's a personal opinion.

Jessi and I were both impressed with the Dad's who took their teen daughters out for a date. Some men are just so amazing. But, sorry ladies - really not impressed with the women my age wearing their twilight t-shirts and mooning over guys that are my children's age. That said - most Twilight fans are cool, and eager to chat about the books and films.

Hope you enjoy the last part of the saga as much as I did.

P.S. Here's my sick note courtesy of AMC. (via a FB Twihard friend)
